Art Critter is a light-hearted nickname for an art critic. The nickname was what Tom Winchester used to refer to students in the MFA Art Criticism and Writing program at School of Visual Arts, in New York City, of which he is an alumnus.
Art Critter’s primary coverage area is the Tampa Bay region of Florida, but occasionally extends nationally and internationally. Because the blog and print magazine are independently owned publications, it’s possible to reach everywhere and anywhere. Our contributors will write about art they deem interesting, regardless of its location, but we also appreciate the responsibility to write about local and regional art, artists, criticism, colleges, museums, and private galleries.
